Frequently Asked Questions

Do parents need a musical background?

Not at all! We are here to guide both our students and their families. We'll provide all the resources and encouragement you need to support your child's musical journey at home.

When is the best time to start?

The best time to start is whenever the curiosity strikes! Whether your child is young or you're an adult returning to an old passion (or taking a leap to try something new), our lessons are tailored to meet you right where you are.

Can I join as a complete beginner?

Absolutely! Many of our students start from scratch, at all ages! We take pride in guiding beginners through their first steps with patience and encouragement.

How do I book my first lesson?

Getting started is easy!  Click HERE to be directed to our contact page where there are multiple ways to get in contact with Megan for scheduling and getting all of your questions answered.  She will help match you with the perfect instructor for your musical journey.

What should I bring to my lessons?

Just bring your instrument (if applicable), music you are working on, any materials requested by your teacher specific to your learning, and a positive spirit! We provide high-quality pianos and vocal gear here at the studio.

I want to take piano lessons, do I need a piano at home?

You and your teacher both want to see you progress in your playing!  To make your investment in lessons worth it, we highly recommend you have an instrument to practice on between lessons, whether that be an acoustic piano or a keyboard is up to you!  There are many options for purchasing pianos depending on specific factors such as your budget, living situation, and space available in your home.  If you go the route of an electric keyboard, the best option long-term is a full-sized keyboard with fully weighted keys and pedals (this will allow you to learn and practice important technical elements).

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for one week's notice for any planned absence. This allows us to offer the slot to another student and keep our teachers' schedules flowing smoothly.  Absences unrelated to illness or family emergency cancelled with less notice will be billed at the full rate.

Can I reschedule a missed lesson?

Yes, there is a make-up policy in your student contract that outlines when lessons are eligible to be rescheduled.  We aim to balance and respect both our students' busy lives and our teachers' time.

Do you offer group classes or just individual lessons?

We primarily focus on one-on-one instruction to ensure personalized attention. However, we occasionally host small group masterclasses to build community and performance skills.  Other special small group sessions may be offered during Summer.

What are your lesson rates?

We offer competitive rates for our professional instruction, with 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute sessions available to best fit your skill level, musical goals and budget.  Click HERE to be directed to our pricing page.

Which payment methods do you accept?

At this time, we accept payment via check, Venmo, and ACH (electronic check). Our goal is to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible.
